Acts: Discussion Guides-Spring/Summer 2019
The Bible’s book of Acts is not an isolated story. It describes epic events that laid the foundation for the global church and shaped the history of the world. Be reminded that the book of Acts itself is a sequel of sorts. It is a continuation of the Gospels and their accounts of the life of Jesus. The book of Acts is the story of the early followers of Christ as they live out the reality of following a crucified, resurrected, ascended and reigning Jesus. This reigning Jesus sends His followers into the world (1:8). Today, we are invited to join the Lord Jesus in bringing heaven to earth. God’s Word and Spirit shape, equip and empower us to be a church that is “sending out servant-hearted disciples with a passion for Jesus into the world. Together, we will be a Kingdom community united around the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matt. 28:16-20).
